Little Web Feet

Before Little Web Feet we were a collection of programmers, designers and artists who had a collection of personal projects and a collection of needs that were not being filled by the technology companies out there.

Little Web Feet grew directly out of our attempts to fill our own needs as environmentally conscious consumers.

OUR STORY

We wanted to have websites but we didn't want the servers our websites were sitting on to be powered by oil and coal or any other unsustainable fuel source. We looked around for green data centers and only found ones that were using huge amounts of dirty energy and then offsetting it with energy credits and calling themselves green. Although this was a step in the right direction, we thought it could be done better. So we did it ourselves.

We also wanted to work in an environment that wasn't toxic to us, or the world around us. We tried to find companies we could work for who shared our principals. We tried to get the employers we did work for to change. Every once in awhile, they would take a small step forward, but, we thought it could be done better. So we did it ourselves.

We wanted to live in a world where beauty, good design and intuitive technology mattered and came at no cost to the earth. We wanted to live in a world where this good technology and good design was affordable to small businesses, artists, freelancers and non-profits. We wanted to live in a world where money was not the absolute bottom line, the be all and end all -- but brought into balance with the health of human beings and the planet.

And although, every once in awhile the world took a step in that direction, we thought it could be done better. So we created it ourselves.
